Brother Sky, Sister Earth and Grandmother Moon

Recently I paged through a spiritual book in which the author’s channeled Guides claimed that the moon is dead, as in devoid of spirit. So, okay, no sound and light are given off by the moon, but in cultures where feminine divinity is still very much alive, they recognize the moon is also very much alive. A repository of womanly spirit, she’s awash with soft and gentle waves of devic vibration that emanate below the threshold of our senses and the most refined scientific equipment. When the moon reflects no sunlight, her own spirit is purely creative (creator). At that time, her spirit functions in a manner similar to a ‘black hole’ or what tribal people might consider a ‘womb.’ In the dark phase, moon as creative force is intimately involved in the birth—and rebirth—of every life in our cosmic neighborhood. As such, the moon serves as Grand(est) Mother to the two youthful powers who animate all the rest of us: Brother Sky and Sister Earth.
Christine’s Potent Prayers

Many students from my European Circles are now doing prayers as part of the astral preparation for our meetings in their countries. I recently heard from a Forum member, Christine Cleobury that her prayers have resulted in certain magic. People may wonder what gives prayer its muscle. In the tribal way, there are as many answers to that as there are Spirits on the Cosmic Web or Wheel. I will limit myself to exploring just one possibility. Primarily, I want to share Christine’s mystical experience, a blessing related to her prayers. With any luck, hearing her story will keep the rest of us enthusiastically in prayer-mode.
In the Midst of Divine Distillation

According to the French Spiritist, Laurant Mulelet this year, 2011, is the year of spiritual distillation. Teaching Aquarian Alchemy, I know that traditionally, distillation is the sixth major operation in the alchemy of transformation. Chemically, distillation involves boiling and condensing the solution created in the first five alchemical steps. It is undertaken in order to increase purity. Distillation is represented by a compound of two substances that once pressed together make what alchemists called a "bezoar." In humans this is like binding the intestines and brain together as one. In spiritual terms this means during the year of distillation, it is going to take guts (or courage from the gut level) to challenge the mind to go forth and finish the seventh and final stage of the planetary and cosmic transformations underway.

As we race through our lives, most of us know that time is no longer accurately reflected by the clock or calendar. As a result of continually trying to base reality on the clock and calendar, our stressors become unnatural as we fill to the brim with a constant sense of urgency. Ancient American forecasters predicted that in our ‘times’ time itself would blossom into new ‘calendrics’ or what the Maya refer to as ‘fresh movement and measure.’ Already we feel time move more quickly, but we want to stick to what we know, believing we can continue with our slower measures: the clockworks and calendrics created to keep track of yesterday’s time.
Turtle Anchors in Tomorrow

In the Mayan cosmology, every year and greater cycle of time has a different spirit guiding it in. These spirits appear as elements in nature, taking the form of plant, animal, stone or human. Moving from phase to phase, one of the four main spirits serves as leader for a current time period which in our case is dying out. During the upcoming cycle, another of the “big four” spirit guides takes over the duties of leadership. In this way the group of four spirit guides shares responsibilities, making sure a fresh period of time is truly ‘new’ and different from the last. But not too different.
New Earth’s ‘Due Date’ Delayed

Proving once again that certainty is the enemy of the mental body, and that in times of transition our motto must be “scrap the plan,” the Maya elders met (in 2008!) to renounce westerner’s solar interpretations of their lunar calendar. In other words, we can forget about 2012 and join the Maya in expecting Earth’s renewal at a later date.
